ABOUT
The CODEPA, a Non Profit registered CSR-NGO ( No. 6544), based in Quatre Bornes grouping members from Grassroots Community Leaders to Social Practitioners including MSc holders in Community Services Management and Health Care Management (University of Wales- Swansea, United Kingdom) and operating in different sectors of Community care. Major local organizations such as the DCP/EU, GEF/ SGP, Ramsar Secretariat, MRC and the Karolinska Institute, Sweden are among our main funding partners and collaborators During almost a decade, we have concentrated our actions at the very grassroots vulnerable groups mainly in the suburbs of Quatre Bornes, Cite Perdue, Poste Lafayette, Chamarel, Cite Anoska, La Pipe, Camp de Masque Pave and Rose Belle, ensuring that those absolute poor find avenues of socio economic integration.
CODEPA has been instrumental sensitising the local community towards a better integration of vulnerable groups including the younger generation. It collaborated with the Municipality of Quatre Bornes, and other NGO’s, Forces Vives, and Ministries to develop a Community Safety Programme in partnership with Karolinska Instititute, Stockholm, Sweden.
CODEPA won the National Environment Award with its Community Based Environmental Education, where Residence Pere Laval was choosen to Launch the Campaign, Plant a tree by each family. Sustainable Development is actually further enhanced by CODEPA proposal to transform the La Louise- Candos Road in the Route Fleurie de la Ville des Fleurs.
